Trade Ideas Review 2026: Is It Worth the Cost for Active Traders?
Trade Ideas is worth considering for active US-stock traders who need real-time scanning, with Standard starting at $127 per month. It is a poor fit for futures-only prop traders looking for an evaluation platform, order-flow tooling or firm-specific risk controls.
Buy for a specific stock-discovery workflow, not an AI profit promise. Standard includes the AI Assistant; Premium adds Holly AI Signals, backtesting and automation. This is a research-based review, not a hands-on performance test.
Key takeaways
- Monthly cost: Standard is $127; Premium is $254, before any additional costs applicable to your purchase.
- Annual commitment: $1,068 for Standard or $2,136 for Premium, paid yearly rather than monthly.
- AI distinction: the AI Assistant is in every TI Pro plan; Holly AI Signals and OddsMaker require Premium.
- Market fit: US-stock discovery, not a replacement for futures prop evaluation infrastructure.
- Platform: TI Pro is Windows desktop software; the browser dashboard omits major desktop features.
- Billing risk: subscriptions renew automatically; the published policy says paid invoices are nonrefundable, subject to stated exceptions.
- Evidence limit: no broker connection, live trading, signal-performance or customer-support test was performed.
What is Trade Ideas?
Trade Ideas is stock-scanning and analysis software supplied by Trade Ideas, LLC, which says it was founded in 2002. Its tools identify US-stock market events, build ranked lists and support strategy research.
The official About page identifies the company and founding year. The billing policy describes Trade Ideas as an information provider that does not hold funds or manage accounts for customers.
Identifiable company details and product documentation do not establish profitable signals, execution reliability or suitability for your account. FundingCodes is an approved referral partner and may earn a commission from qualifying referrals; see our editorial policy.
How much does Trade Ideas cost in October 2026?
The official pricing page, checked October 28, 2026, lists Standard (Core) and Premium (Apex). These are published USD base prices, not checkout-tested totals or a FundingCodes promotional offer.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual charge | Annual monthly equivalent | 12 monthly payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $127 | $1,068 | $89 | $1,524 |
| Premium | $254 | $2,136 | $178 | $3,048 |
The 12-payment figures are arithmetic using today's monthly price, not guaranteed future renewal totals. Annual billing commits the full yearly amount upfront; the $89 and $178 equivalents are not month-to-month offers.
- Upgrade budget: Premium costs $127 more per monthly payment or $1,068 more per annual subscription than Standard.
- Market data: the billing policy says Trade Ideas pays exchange fees for non-professional users; professional users owe additional exchange fees.
- Other costs: confirm taxes, separately priced add-ons, broker charges and any Mac virtualization costs before purchasing. We did not verify a combined total.
A higher fee only makes sense if you need the extra workflow capabilities. We cannot calculate a trading-profit break-even point or promise the subscription will pay for itself.
Standard or Premium: which features do you need?
Standard covers real-time scanning; Premium adds the documented strategy-testing, signal and automation tools. The official feature guide separates these functions as follows.
- Standard: Streaming Alerts, Top Lists, charts, TI Wave, paper trading, in-app trading and the AI Assistant.
- Premium: Standard features plus OddsMaker backtesting, Holly AI Signals, Money Machine automated trading, Smart Risk Levels and RBI/GBI windows.
- Important distinction: AI Assistant builds scans and explains charts from plain-English prompts. Holly AI Signals supplies a different, Premium-only signal workflow.
The AI Assistant page says it is included in TI Pro on every plan, without a separate chat subscription. Older reviews that group all “Holly AI” features under Premium can obscure this distinction.
There is an official-source inconsistency: the pricing card lists customizable multi-strategy windows and unlimited personal watchlists under Premium. The feature guide lists them in every TI Pro plan.
Trade Ideas' own pages disagree on whether multi-strategy windows and unlimited watchlists require Premium. If either feature determines your purchase, obtain written confirmation of its availability under Standard before paying. FundingCodes has not independently resolved this entitlement conflict.
Can you use Trade Ideas for futures prop trading?
Trade Ideas is not a substitute for a futures prop trading platform. Its own product review says it is not a fit for futures, forex or crypto.
A futures-only trader should first check the firm's supported execution platform, data connection and risk rules. Our Quantower review covers a different product category; availability still depends on your firm and connection.
For a stock-prop account, a supported broker connection is not permission from the firm. Confirm the exact account's external-signal, automation and data rules before connecting anything. We did not verify any specific stock-prop firm's approval or evaluation compatibility.
Does the web version replace Windows TI Pro?
No. The official feature matrix describes TI Pro as Windows desktop software, also usable on a Mac through Parallels. The Web Dashboard runs in a browser on Mac or PC but has a narrower feature set.
- Web Dashboard: Top Lists, Races, charts, stock details and news are listed.
- Current dashboard matrix: Streaming Alerts and the AI Assistant are listed for TI Pro, not the Web Dashboard.
- Premium desktop tools: OddsMaker, Holly AI Signals and Money Machine are also absent from that web matrix.
A separate Web Version guide describes browser-based custom scans and Premium Holly entry/exit signals, without Brokerage Plus. Do not assume “Web Version” and “Web Dashboard” are interchangeable; confirm the exact browser product and entitlements you will receive.
The vendor offers a free account to try the dashboard and describes live access as limited-time. We did not establish the duration or subsequent data access, so do not assume permanent free real-time access or a full Premium trial.
What should you check before connecting a broker?
Confirm an actual API integration, not merely a marketing partnership. The broker page labels TradeStation, Interactive Brokers, E*TRADE and Alpaca as API integrations; Centerpoint and Cobra are labeled partnerships.
Before any live use, verify account eligibility, supported orders, position sizing and protective-order behavior with the broker and Trade Ideas. Paper trading and backtests do not establish live fills, reliable order routing or future results. We did not connect an account or test disconnection behavior.
What does a stock-scanning workflow look like?
A documented Trade Ideas workflow starts with a defined scan, then reviews the resulting stocks; it does not begin by blindly following an AI signal. The AI Assistant guide describes creating Top Lists and Alert windows from plain-English requests.
- Describe the stock universe and conditions you want to observe, such as relative volume or a price move.
- Inspect the generated filters and whether you need a ranked Top List or an event-triggered Alert window.
- If using Premium, examine the setup in OddsMaker; historical results are not forecasts.
- Use a permitted practice environment before considering live execution, and check every account restriction separately.
This is a source-based workflow outline, not a strategy recommendation or an interface test. More alerts can also mean more distraction; set a purpose for the scanner before paying for it.
Trade Ideas, TradingView or Bookmap?
Choose by the job you need done, not by which product uses “AI” in its marketing. These are category comparisons, not measured speed, signal-quality or profitability rankings.
- Trade Ideas: research it for live US-stock discovery, scan configuration and the documented Premium tools.
- TradingView: its feature page emphasizes charting, indicators, alerts and broader market analysis. Our TradingView review explains its separate futures-data and platform considerations.
- Bookmap: its official page emphasizes liquidity heatmaps and order-book visualization, including futures connectivity. Live futures and stock data can cost extra.
If your priority is futures order flow, investigate that workflow directly rather than paying for a stock scanner. We have not produced a like-for-like total-cost comparison or tested these tools side by side; required plans, data and account access differ.
Can you cancel, and are payments refundable?
Trade Ideas subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and its billing policy says all sales are final. Canceling stops future renewal, not the charge for a period already invoiced.
- Cancellation: use Account Management or the Billing Portal; if inaccessible, the policy allows an emailed request to [email protected].
- Paid access: continues to the end of the current billing period; unused time is not prorated.
- Add-ons: separately billed add-ons require separate cancellation.
- Exceptions: the policy covers billing-error corrections and preserves non-waivable statutory rights. Discretionary relief is not an entitlement.
Check the renewal amount and effective cancellation date in your account. This summarizes published terms, not a tested cancellation or a legal opinion about your jurisdiction.
What do Trustpilot and Reddit reviewers say?
Trustpilot displayed 3.9 out of 5 from 51 reviews on October 28, 2026. That is a dated platform score, not a FundingCodes rating or an audited performance record.
- Positive example: Ian Watt's October 26, 2026 review praised assistance from Trade Ideas and the product's capabilities. It is one customer's account, not our support test.
- Critical example: Drr's October 22, 2026 review described difficulty getting a clear explanation of the signal-to-broker workflow. We did not independently verify that interaction.
- Older Reddit context: u/HSeldon2020's August 8, 2022 r/RealDayTrading review praised scanner flexibility but warned that low-float alerts could encourage impulsive trades. Its old pricing and trial details are not current offers.
These selected reports are not a representative customer survey. They support checking learning requirements and support expectations, not a claim that the software produces profits or that every reported problem is a verified defect.
Verdict: who should consider Trade Ideas?
- Potential fit: an active US-stock trader with a defined scanning need and a budget for recurring software costs.
- Premium fit: a trader who specifically needs OddsMaker, Holly AI Signals or Money Machine and understands their limitations.
- Poor fit: a futures-only prop trader, an occasional investor who does not need continuous scanning, or anyone expecting guaranteed income.
- Still unverified: live performance, uptime, personal eligibility, account-specific permissions, full checkout totals, support and future billing behavior.
Start with the workflow and the billing commitment. Do not treat the annual monthly equivalent, an AI label or a positive review as a reason to skip those checks.
